DOOR (DAY) +DOOR (NIGHT)acrylic on wood77” x 30”&nbsp; &nbsp;
	This piece is two in one, ‘Door (Day)’ and ‘Door (Night)’ were painted on the back of each other on this old door I took from an old attic. It’s one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever made.

PAINTER WITH PICTUREacrlyic on wood17.5” x 16” each panel

	These are two panels from a broken camping table paired together. The artist, fidgeting in frustration with the work in progress. Trying to capture beauty, never quite getting it right.

<img width="3703" height="5057" width_o="3703" height_o="5057" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/15c6374a786a22c87844babae66ab48eda74c2009f4f08aeb307cfb562a49042/Zach-Paintings03.jpg" data-mid="136310645" border="0" data-scale="65" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/15c6374a786a22c87844babae66ab48eda74c2009f4f08aeb307cfb562a49042/Zach-Paintings03.jpg" />
THE THINKERacrylic, charcoal and oilstick on wood37.7” x 27”

	We all get into long illogical thought tangents right? This one is on a funny fence panel, note the peculiar cut out in the upper half.

	<img width="1174" height="2048" width_o="1174" height_o="2048" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/8145eda81ccdd2c9483b3e192746c6cb16c95e99f9f3218f8635b53df8646d1d/sword.jpg" data-mid="136557276" border="0" data-scale="81" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/8145eda81ccdd2c9483b3e192746c6cb16c95e99f9f3218f8635b53df8646d1d/sword.jpg" />
SWORDacrlyic on wood36” x 11.25”&nbsp;

	I try to be direct, I often don’t succeed. This time, I think I did.

	<img width="3526" height="4855" width_o="3526" height_o="4855" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/cfcd52fca6a392542488d374514d6ba66cca21d38e7a36eed77792f302c6ac31/Zach-Paintings05.jpg" data-mid="136462361" border="0" data-scale="64" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/cfcd52fca6a392542488d374514d6ba66cca21d38e7a36eed77792f302c6ac31/Zach-Paintings05.jpg" />
HERacrlyic on wood37.7” X 27”

	This one is about being in relationship with someone. One person, represented by two figures, looking at another person. That is all.

	<img width="2448" height="3804" width_o="2448" height_o="3804" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/09d5e985e092171f2bb404fc3f1e60af0054d29a964c3b741b802ec5dfb0e6f3/manholdingflashlight.jpg" data-mid="150964108" border="0" data-scale="65" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/09d5e985e092171f2bb404fc3f1e60af0054d29a964c3b741b802ec5dfb0e6f3/manholdingflashlight.jpg" />
MAN HOLDING FLASHLIGHTacrlyic on canvas

	Holding light into the forest, sitting on a rock doing nothing.&nbsp;

CAMPING ALONEacrlyic and oilstick on wood80” X 27.5”

	Painted on a door, this piece depicts one of my favorite things to do in this world, go camping alone. Specifically the piece focuses on the time of introspection while alone in nature. To sit by the fire for hours in thought then look up to find you’ve been taken somewhere else.
<img width="2504" height="2976" width_o="2504" height_o="2976" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/9ac5fdb640ccd6336842bba9a72394be55e3701ec115b17301a2c0912b201d81/74B531D3-A115-41E3-AE0D-BD208B728DB3.jpeg" data-mid="142448998" border="0" data-scale="63" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/9ac5fdb640ccd6336842bba9a72394be55e3701ec115b17301a2c0912b201d81/74B531D3-A115-41E3-AE0D-BD208B728DB3.jpeg" />
BURNING FLOWERSacrlyic on wood38” X 33”
	This one is on a section of an old broken table, it’s extremely heavy. This piece involved many layers, each phase looking dramatically different until I landed here.

	<img width="5542" height="2732" width_o="5542" height_o="2732" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/bebcce6c77a5616c62efffa50c433f1b7655c65adb136d67ba9efdf80a019630/Zach-Paintings06.jpg" data-mid="136461895" border="0" data-scale="100" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/bebcce6c77a5616c62efffa50c433f1b7655c65adb136d67ba9efdf80a019630/Zach-Paintings06.jpg" />
GOING HOMEacrlyic on canvas24” x 48”

	Look a painting of mine on a proper canvas. I had absolutely no plan when I started this piece and it only took me about fortyfive minutes to paint. This is my most popular painting by far- that’s frustrating, such is life.

	<img width="3732" height="3724" width_o="3732" height_o="3724" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/98332e04962167b3af5dc0d0d3859d10e0b4e607e86a4118af534392b55291e6/Zach-Paintings04.jpg" data-mid="136461449" border="0" data-scale="84" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/98332e04962167b3af5dc0d0d3859d10e0b4e607e86a4118af534392b55291e6/Zach-Paintings04.jpg" />
FOUND A FLOWERacrlyic on canvas36” x 36”

	Finding beauty in unexpected places, a truly spiritual moment. Maybe we should all start looking for beauty in more places than just where we expect it to be.

	<img width="1365" height="1849" width_o="1365" height_o="1849" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/df5d7a503a65dcc074b62a6b47f5f9028ed7c06accea098691371631d1315e3e/lookather.png" data-mid="150853092" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/df5d7a503a65dcc074b62a6b47f5f9028ed7c06accea098691371631d1315e3e/lookather.png" />
LOOK AT HERacrlyic, oilstick and crayon on canvas
48” X 36”

	It’s a lot, but not much at all. Looking forward or looking back.

48” X 48”
	Primary colors and their meanings to me.

JUMPING OVER HOMEacrylic on metal

	I took a metal plate that fell off a streetpole and painted it. It’s rusty and heavy.

For Movements of the Mind, I created a series of narrative vignettes influenced by ekphrasis, a
literary exercise to produce vivid written descriptions of visual works of art. Each narrative can
be read alone as an individual movement, tied to a specific artwork in the exhibition, or
combined in their entirety, forming an expanded narrative that explores our shifting internal
perceptions through the course of a day.
The structure of the writing was influenced by conversations between the writer and the artist,
and by the style of the paintings on display.

ABOUT

	Hello,

Zach is a multidisciplinary artist from Dallas, Texas. Specializing in illustration and painting, Zach uses language, color, lines and form to express the abstracted world of our thoughts, feelings and spirituality.&nbsp;
“I’ve been making things ever since I was a kid. Whether it was drawing, painting, coloring or building a fort, I always found myself getting sucked into a different world of creation.

I approach every painting differently because I’m not interested in doing the same thing twice; everything i make is the first and last piece in its own series.”

Thank you,&nbsp;Zach
